A Magical Healing Touch
“She infuses her body work with a variety of modalities, taking extra care to support mind, body, and spirit, with the aptitude of a sports medicine doctor.” – Grace, Calgary, Canada
Mary-Kate Lee is a caring Massage Therapist who incorporates universal healing energy into all of her sessions. She provides deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Connective Tissue Massage, Trigger Point therapy, Cupping, Body Wraps, Gua Sha, Reflexology and also Reiki energy healing.
A graduate of the Sedona School of Massage and a Holy Fire Reiki master, Mary-Kate has been reviewed as having a “magical healing touch!” She is very intuitive, listens to your specific needs and provides a relaxing experience.
Often Mary-Kate incorporates aromatherapy, sound therapy with singing bowls and tuning forks, as well as crystals to help clear and align your chakras. She uses unscented vegan, paraben and nut free cream. Deep tissue pressure can be applied to any style of massage. Additional options include adding hot towels, hot stones, Gua Sha therapy, cupping and body wraps.
Mary-Kate offers a powerful Swedish massage, which is a soft tissue manipulation directly affecting muscular, circulatory and lymphatic systems. The applied pressure varies from light to deep, depending on the needs and desires of the client. It is excellent for relieving stress and tension, creating a feeling of relaxation and well-being.
Connective Tissue Massage is also often incorporated in Mary-Kate’s sessions. CTM is a dynamic solution to pain relief, by lengthening the fascia more physical space is created. The physical and emotional “letting go” manifests itself as diminished stress and heightened self-awareness.
Hot Stone Massage has been used by Native Americans since 1500 B.C. It allows for deeper manipulation of the muscles, gets rid of toxins, reduces pain and increases circulation. Another benefit is the calming affect on the mind, it helps you go in to a state of deep meditation. 90 minute sessions are recommended for hot stone additions.
Trigger point therapy is a technique that can be used in any session. Trigger points are tender areas in ligaments, tendons and muscles often called “knots” that refer pain to other parts of the body.
Massage Cupping is a wonderful ancient tool that has found its place in the modern world of healing. Mary-Kate is a certified ACE Massage Cupping and MediCupping Practitioner. Conditions that have responded to massage cupping include cellulite, nervous tension, sports injuries, fibromyalgia, edema, colon disorders and many more.
By creating suction and negative pressure, massage cupping is used to:

Gua Sha is a healing technique traditional in East Asian medicine. It uses a scraping technique that raises a “sha” or “petechiae” that somewhat resembles a light bruise. The Sha indicates increase blood circulation and toxins coming to the surface.
Mary-Kate uses a titanium gua sha tool which attracts and captures oxygen then transfers it to the body, thus reducing inflammation. Titanium is an effective pain killer which stimulates nerves present in targeted areas to encourage healing. It also has magnetic properties that attract iron-rich blood cells to the affected part of the body leading to faster pain relief and healing.
In Mary-Kate’s free time she loves to learn new healing modalities, expand her spiritual awareness, and go hiking in the Sedona wilderness.

Praise for Mary-Kate:
“Gateway Wellness consistently offers everything I want from a healing environment – knowledgable and effective practitioners, friendly and welcoming staff, and products that accelerate growth, nestled amidst the canyons of magical Sedona. I have never felt as deeply cared for or held in a safe space, as I do when receiving a massage from Mary-Kate. She infuses her body work with a variety of modalities, taking extra care to support mind, body, and spirit, with the aptitude of a sports medicine doctor. The depth of healing possible at GCWC far surpasses anything that is possible in the region’s luxury spa’s – for half the price. I cannot recommend this spa any higher!“- Grace, Calgary, Canada
“I also wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed my massage as well. I felt so good for several days after. You were so kind to me. I appreciate that you treated me with such respect. I felt that I had known you for years. You seem to be such a loving person…We both said on the way home that it would be so nice to have a center like Gateway here in Fruita or even Grand Jct. You all have gone the extra mile to give the customer that Spa feeling and a true feeling of wellness. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place.” – Rin Kucler, Fruita,CO
“When I was in Sedona I had the good fortune to have a massage with Mary-Kate Lee. I had a full body message and I asked that she pay particular attention to my right hip and left shoulder. She did an amazing job. She made sure she delivered just the right pressure to each spot. She would ask, “ Is the pressure comfortable for you?” Then she would adjust it accordingly. Her hands are firm yet gentle. I also appreciate that she ask if the room temperature was comfortable. The message left me feeling rejuvenated.” ~ Barbara, Colorado Springs, CO
